No Fence Harmony School Teacher talks about not having a school yard fence.

Diverse play space is important for children’s development. The purpose of the natural playground is for children to be engaged in a broader range of activities for a longer time, than they would using regular playgrounds. Children also may be able to enjoy playing with plants and watching the wildlife attracted to the space.  Children who spend more time in nature are also more likely to care about it as adults.
