Creating a rich outdoor curriculum for toddlers means having at least two of everything–two cars, two balls, etc. Toddlers often want what someone else has, or in the case of this child, learns from experiencing two similar items. Both cars have doors to open and shut and comfy seats to sit upon. Do you think this is the reason the child decided to change cars? What do you think he was thinking?

Children like to do “meaningful work.” How is the child’s actions moving the ball out of his way an example of “meaningful work?”
